Asalaamu-alaikum world. So I am watching sister wives season finale tonight. This show is defiantly very interesting. The three previous wives all seem to have had difficulty with the adjustment of the new add on of 4th wife Robin (Brunette on the end) into the mix. Meri (1st wife, and 3rd wife Christine) mentioned that they felt it was unnecessary and unfair that Robin was trying to get equal time with the husband before they even got married. They seem like they are somewhat happy with the situation but it really seems they were much happier with just the 3 of them in the mix. The new wife had a 200 guest wedding, which was nothing like the 2nd or 3rd simple weddings. So its clear there is some jealousy because of that. Although their belief system is completly different than Islam, i totally agree with the 2nd and 3rd wives view on how she 4th wife shouldnt of had a big flashy wedding. Although they are not muslim its good to see women working together trying to make things work.
When I was looking up info on sisterwives it is surprising how close minded so many people are. There were so many people hating on this show and the family making comments to cancel their cable service and try to get the network TLC banned. Really, there are a lot of dumb people in this country. Sorry it is what it is. TLC stands for "The Learning Channel." Therefore the channel is based upon the premise to broaden people's little feeble minds to knowledge regarding life, and the world. Plural marriage may not be for everyone but these woman here made a choice and are happy with that. Nobody forced them into it, they weren't child brides or anything crazy. Currently according to the CDC statistics, 4 out of every 10 births in the U.S are babies born out of wedlock. Which means lots of single mothers, men with multiple "baby mama's" ect. Some other sad statistics 2.8 million people have chlamydia, 1 million new cases of gonorrhea, and some 94 thousand other people are walking around every year getting syphilis. This sounds like one big yuck fest. If more people valued their bodies and marriage maybe there would be more plural marriages who knows but these disease rates and preggo rates would also drop significantly. Plural marriage when done right can help alot of would be single mothers have a provider, friend, lover ect instead of just roughin it, in these STD infested streets lol. I'm just saying alot of people out there are quick to be against polygamy and say negative things about it. Yet they are ok with divorce rate being 40-60%, std rate being crazy high, teenage pregnancy being crazy high, and men having many children out of wedlock and not taking care of any of them. Hmm just some food for thought.

Sister wives...hmmm interesting
Ok, so TLC has this new show that comes on Sunday nights at 10pm called Sister Wives. OMG i am loving this show. So , I admit I know very little about the Mormon faith however this show really inspires me to learn more about their belief system. So in the picture the husband Kody was first married to the 1st wife Meri (with short hair), then 2nd wife Jenelle in pink, then 3rd wife Christine in black & purple. The family has 12 kids with one on the way and all live in one big home with 3 separate apartments. I dont like how the husband is trying to get a 4th wife. I was all rooting for him, but now im like ok dude your just being greedy. But the family seems to be doing well financially Kody drives Lexus sports car, Meri has a Lexus SUV and Christine and Jeanelle both drive SUVs. Christine stays at home with the children and the other two wives work. This arrangement seems to be working well for them. What I found to be interesting about their situation was that all of the wives were married to Kody before any of them had children with him. If my husband "marries" his concubine as planned then we both would be in the same scenario as the sister wives. I think being married in polygamy before any children would be a benefit because it allows everyone to adjust and see if it can work before any bebe kids are brought in the mix. The kids on the show seem like normal kids that are all well adjusted. Another thing about the show which I found interesting is that their whole dynamic seems to work. Grant it they have all been married to this Kody dude for like 16+ years, so the days of name calling and cat fights are likely long gone, but they seem to be in a good place. I like how they all seem to work together helping with the children and hanging out like sisters/friends. They defiantly have a beautiful bond, a bond which I have rarely seen in other polygamy situations. If and when the concubine and my hubbie finalize whatever plans they have, it would be nice to eventually be able to work together without wanting to call her a dirty mistress. Regardless of whatever friendship me and the concubine may ever form, I don't think I ever want to live in the same home regardless of how big it is. Too close for comfort. I think the closest I would want to do would be purchasing a large home on several acres of land and then building another home on the property for the concubine. Another reason why I wouldn't want to live together is because if her family would ever come to visit I would have to be covered, and vise verse. But yea, sister wives will be on the good ol' DVR so i can take notes on how to "maintain my calm." LOL
